Glenn founded Common Sense Finance to help bring personal finance knowledge and strategies to those most in need of the information. Prior to founding the organization, Glenn Turtel served as the Chief Financial Officer of RePublic Schools, where he managed the finances and accounting of seven charter schools in Tennessee and Mississippi, including the opening of the first charter school in Mississippi. Glenn Turtel setup the 401K plan for RePublic’s Mississippi employees and regularly explained financial concepts and described investment options to staff members. Glenn previously founded Top Honors (now Common Denominator), a not-for-profit organization that provides free math tutoring primarily to at-risk middle school students in New York City. Glenn is currently studying to become a Certified Financial Planner. Glenn graduated with a B.S in Economics with Concentrations in Finance and Accounting from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Catherine started with Common Sense Finance as the Program Director in April of 2022, working with Glenn to define the program offerings and create the operational systems for the organization. Before joining Common Sense Finance Catherine worked with RePublic Schools for nearly 10 years in various operations and finance roles, most recently as the Director of Finance for the network. Prior to working for RePublic, Catherine spent a year working in affordable private schools in Hyderabad, India with the IDEX Fellowship. Catherine graduated with a B.A. in Economics and Mathematics from Rhodes College in Memphis, TN.
Michael is the Chief Academic Officer for Public Prep Charter Schools in New York City, which is an award-winning network of charter schools across Manhattan and the Bronx and the nation’s first non-profit tuition-free charter school network that develops exceptional Pre-K, and single-gender elementary and middle public schools. Prior to becoming the CAO at Public Prep, Michael was most recently the Managing Director of Academics at RePublic Schools, but worked in various positions at the network over the last decade. Michael’s interest in education started when he joined Teacher For America where he taught for 2 years in the Mississippi Delta. Michael graduated with a B.A. in International Studies and Sociology from Bard College in New York.
Taylor is the Manager of Accounts and Operations at FoxFuel Creative, a creative agency based in Nashville, TN, that produces effective outcomes for brands and people through design, content, and technology. In addition to working with FoxFuel, Taylor runs her own Operations and Business Solutions company, TABS, LLC where she helps small businesses manage their day to day operations. Additionally Taylor has over 9 years of experience teaching, coaching, and working in operations in schools. Taylor graduated with a Masters of Education from Lipscomb University and a B.S. in Biology from Belmont University, both in Nashville, TN.
